This Privacy Policy explains how the Aprendaal mobile application (the “App”) handles information. The App is developed and published by Magwel (“we”, “us”, “our”). If you have any questions, contact us at info@aprendaal.com.
The short version
Aprendaal is built to be privacy-friendly. We do not collect, store, or share your personal data. We do not require an account, we do not run ads, and we do not use any analytics or tracking tools. Everything you do in the App — your study progress and statistics — stays on your device.
Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information.
- No account. You can use the entire App without signing up or providing a name, email address, or any other identifier.
- Study data stays on your device. Your progress, statistics, streaks, and settings are stored locally on your device only. We have no server that receives or stores this data, and we cannot see it.
- No advertising or analytics. The App contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking software.
Notifications
If you enable study reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. These reminders are generated entirely on-device — no notification is sent through any server, and no data leaves your device. You can turn reminders off at any time in the App’s settings or in your device’s system settings.
Software updates
The App uses Expo’s over-the-air update service (EAS Update) to deliver improvements without requiring a full app-store update. When the App checks for an update, your device connects to Expo’s servers, which may process basic technical information (such as your IP address, device type, and operating system version) to deliver the correct update. This data is handled by Expo and is not used to identify you. See Expo’s privacy policy at https://expo.dev/privacy for details.
App stores
When you download or update the App, the Apple App Store or Google Play Store may collect information according to their own privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for the data practices of these platforms.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone, because we do not collect any. The only external service the App communicates with is Expo (for software updates), as described above.
Data retention and deletion
Because your data is stored only on your device:
- You can reset your study statistics at any time from within the App (Statistics → “Reset statistics”).
- Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all associated data from your device.
Children’s privacy
The App is suitable for general audiences, including children, and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).
Your rights
Because we do not collect or process your personal data, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete on our servers. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
